Kids and parents alike love the Furreal Walking dogs.  Their life-like sounds and movements along with the assortment of characters are to thank for this popularity.  Although GoGo My Walking Pup is one of the most sought after in the Furreal Walking Dogs category it is certainly not the only choice.  The Walkin’ Puppies, Lil’ Patter and Walkables collection are also great candidates and in some cases offer more variety in breeds.

GoGo My Walkin’ Pup

First we’ll talk about GoGo My Walkin’ Pup.  This Bichon Frise model outshines her counterparts and is definitely a favorite amongst Furreal Friends lovers.  With a remote control leash your child can guide this pup just about wherever they want to go.  Designed to walk on smooth and dry surfaces, My Walkin’ Pup is always ready for an afternoon stroll around the neighborhood, to the park or up and down the driveway.  You could even take her on a trip to the grocery store.  She weighs less than 5 pounds so your child will have no problem lifting and snuggling with her.  You can train this walking pup to come to you with a simple command. There are 3 different settings on this dog, “On”, “Off” and “Try”. While in “Try” mode the dog will only bark and make sounds she will not move.  However when you turn her “On” she’s ready to go.  GoGo My Walkin’ Pup is battery operated.  Although she comes with four C batteries, I strongly recommend investing in some rechargeable batteries.

Furreal Friends Walkin’ Puppies

The Furreal Friends Walkin’ Puppies come as either a King Charles Spaniel or White Spaniel.  This sweet puppy barks and makes sounds like a live puppy when you hold and pet her.  And when you put her on the ground she trots around in a circle then returns to you like the show dog she is.  This is her way of letting you know she needs some love and attention.  The Walking Puppies are a great addition to any family as they easy to maintain and loads of fun.  Just remember to turn her off to give her time to rest.  She runs on AAA batteries, so investing in rechargeable batteries is advised.

Furreal Friends Lil’ Patter Pups

The Lil’ Patter Pups walk, wag and bark as a sign of excitement and happiness.  These pups emulate the small breed Pomeranian, Shih-Tzu and Lhasa Apso pooches. These dogs have become somewhat of an accessory especially in the Hollywood community, often being carried in the purse of your movie star.  Making the stylish carriers that come with these pups is very fitting.  Your little girl will love toting her Lil’ Patter Pup with her to the mall, the park or even just around the house.  Not only are they fun to carry around and cuddle they are also fun to watch as they come alive when you pet their fur on one of their built in sensors.

Furreal Friends Walkable Dog

The Furreal Friends Littlest Pet Shop Walkable dog, as to be assumed by the name, is the smallest Furreal walking dog clan.  Although the range of animals in the Walkables collection overall is vast, there is only one canine option.  The biggest difference between the Walkables pups and the other walking dogs is that the Walkables are coated with plastic instead of fur.  Therefore these pets are not ideal for the child that is looking for a cuddly four legged friend.  They also do not bark or make sounds like their counterparts.  They do, however, walk when you press a button underneath their belly.  Because of their limited features the Walkables collection is the least expensive of the Furreal walking dogs.

Choosing the right Furreal walking dog for you depends on your lifestyle and the activity level of your child.  Some children may get bored easily with a pet that only walks and does not make noise.  Therefore the Walkables dog is not the best option for you and you should consider one of the other three options.  However if simply having the dog walk in a circle will not satisfy your childs ever growing imagination, then GoGo My Walkin’ Pup would be the wisest choice.
